NEW YORK – J.F. Lehman & Company, a leading middle-market private equity firm focused on the defense, aerospace and maritime sectors, recently announced the promotion of C. Alexander Harman to Partner and the promotion of both Carter S. Groves and Robert H. Lee to Vice President. Messrs. Harman, Groves and Lee are involved in all aspects of the firm’s business, from identifying and evaluating acquisition opportunities to active involvement in the operations of the firm’s portfolio companies.
Mr. Harman has been a member of the firm for a decade, most recently serving as Principal. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Hawaii Superferry, Inc. and Atlantic Marine Holding Company, Inc. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Harman worked at J.P. Morgan & Company and graduated cum laude from Williams College, where he received a B.A. in History.
Mr. Groves joined J.F. Lehman & Company in 2005 and currently serves as an officer of AIS Global Holdings LLC (Atlantic Inertial Systems). Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Groves was a member of private equity firm The CapStreet Group. Mr. Groves graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.B.A. in Finance and received his M.B.A. from Columbia Business School, where he graduated with Beta Gamma Sigma Honors.
Mr. Lee joined J.F. Lehman & Company in 2008. Prior to joining the firm, he was a member of Houlihan Lokey’s Aerospace•Defense•Government group in Los Angeles. He has also worked at Deutsche Bank Securities and Cowen & Co. Mr. Lee earned a B.S. in Chemistry from the United States Military Academy at West Point and received his M.B.A. from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. He was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force and served in numerous positions through his military career, including posts at Air Force Space Command and the Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center.
